Client Profile
Our client is a prominent multinational automotive manufacturing company. We were brought on board as a strategic eCommerce partner to play a crucial role in developing a new sales and distribution ecosystem.
Challenge
The task was fraught with challenges. A key requirement was the integration of multiple custom and legacy backend systems, spanning a range of car brands, dealers, and leasing companies. The client had a vast and complex relational database with diverse user roles and models. The project involved managing over five different 3rd party contractors. Additionally, there was a dearth of benchmarks and competitors for guidance. On top of this, the project had to meet intricate legal and financial requirements.
Solution
To meet the client’s needs, we employed a custom and dedicated Marketplace model utilizing Magento 2. We adopted an agile, multi-iteration analysis process and Scrum-based development. A Lean-UX design was incorporated, complete with wireframes and detailed customer journeys. We ensured seamless interaction with third-party systems through API-based elastic integration.
Results
The platform we developed achieved recognition by winning the “Think Out of the Box” – 2019 PL eCommerce Award. We successfully launched the first car-leasing marketplace platform in Europe for one of the client’s top brands. This quickly became a fast-growing, scalable sales platform, with over 100% dynamic growth. Following this success, we launched another brand in July, with plans for the subsequent launch of two more brands.
Conclusion
This case study exemplifies the power of strategic partnerships in eCommerce. By leveraging agile development, customized marketplace models, and seamless third-party integrations, we could help our client establish a robust, award-winning sales and distribution ecosystem. The project’s success testifies to the effectiveness of innovative solutions in overcoming complex challenges and achieving dynamic growth.
