Our client ranks as the sixth-largest retailer in Croatia and stands as the largest retailer in Dalmatia. Operating over 400 stores, each with an average selling space of 120 square meters, the grocery chain has a significant presence in the market.


Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the client sought to safeguard staff and customers while continuing their retail operations. Restrictions on in-store customer numbers led to long queues, driving the need for an immediate eCommerce solution. The website needed to be bilingual, supporting both Croatian and English. Additionally, with some customers avoiding in-person shopping, the client aimed to offer a comprehensive online purchasing experience.


We provided an entirely online development process, from briefing to development briefings, using platforms like Webex for workshops. We created a ready-to-go online shop using the Magento eCommerce platform, fully merchandised and operational within just two weeks.

To ensure secure transactions and efficient order management, we leveraged a secure cloud solution. We also integrated marketplace options, enabling the client to sell products via platforms like Amazon and eBay. To facilitate order fulfilment, we introduced options for click-and-collect or home delivery services.


Within days, the client saw an increase in sales as customers returned to the stores using the click-and-collect or home delivery services. They were able to offer online purchasing of 300 essential products, reducing exposure for both staff and customers amidst the pandemic.

Moreover, the solutions implemented were future-proof, designed to accommodate expansion in products, customer communication channels, additional stores, and languages.
